Instruction

Before starting the GNUBLIN Module-portexpander there are a few small solderings to be made. However, you should first verify that all components have been included:

  • Assembled and soldered PCB (SMD)
  • 6 x 2-pole terminals
  • 2 x 14-pin sockets
  • 5 x Jumper
  • 3 x 3 pin connector
  • 2 x 2 pin connector


Assembly

When assembling the components, it is cleverly when you first start with the pin header and the two headers. Subsequently, the terminal can be soldered. The figure below describes the module to the parts and service to help you in the placement of the components.

Now you module is fully assembled and can be connected to the Gnublin via the ribbon cable.

Startup

When starting up it is important that the I2C address and the pull-up resistors are set. However, the pull-up resistors must only be set if only one module is connected to the Gnublin. Or otherwise, at least to a module the I2C pull-up resistors must be set. The following figure shows the configuration for a module on the I2C connector.
